PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: May 17th, 2024

This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of Altquid, Inc. (“Altquid,” “Candidry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and how we handle personal information that we collect through our application, website, and any other sites or services (collectively, the “Services”).

The Basics

Candidry allows users to receive anonymous messages through social media. Here’s how it works:

  • The Candidry app permits a user (“App User”) to generate a Candidry link and then use that link to solicit messages from anyone with access to the link (“Message Sender”).

  • When a Message Sender clicks on the Candidry link, they are taken to a URL where they can send a message directly to the App User.

  • The App User may choose to post the messages and the App User’s response to their social media accounts.

Candidry does not store the name or social media handles of the Message Sender, and cannot reveal this information to the App User or to others. However, we may reveal certain properties of the Message Sender to the App User, based on factors such as the Message Sender’s IP address or browser user agent. Additionally, Candidry may share this information with law enforcement if necessary for compliance, safety, or integrity issues.

To protect the safety of our users, we employ AI content moderation services (e.g., Hive Moderation). These services utilize deep learning and sophisticated algorithms to screen messages and filter out harmful language and bullying.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect information about you from a variety of sources, and the type of information we collect depends on how you interact with our Services—whether you visit our website, download the Candidry app, or send messages through the Services. Below is an overview of the categories of personal information we collect.

1. Personal Information You Provide to Us

  • Account information: App Users provide account details when they download the Candidry app and sign up to use the Services. App Users may provide their social media handle(s) so that we can link the Services to their accounts. They may also upload a profile picture for their Candidry account.

  • Messages: The content of messages that Message Senders submit to App Users through the Services.

  • Feedback or correspondence: Information you provide when you contact us with questions, feedback, or product reviews, or otherwise correspond with us online.

  • Usage information: Information about how you use the Services and interact with us, including any content you upload or otherwise submit to us, and information you provide when you use any interactive features of the Services.

  • Other information: Other information not specifically listed here, which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

2. Information We Obtain from Other Sources

We may obtain your personal information from third parties, such as marketing partners, publicly available sources, lead generators, and data providers.

3. Automatic Data Collection

We and our service providers may automatically log information about you, your computer or mobile device, and your interactions over time with our Services, communications, and other online services. This can include:

  • Online activity data: Pages or screens viewed, time spent on a page or screen, browsing history, navigation paths, access times, duration of access, and whether you have opened or clicked links in our marketing emails.

Tools for Automatic Data Collection

  • Cookies: Text files stored on your device to identify your browser or store settings, helping you navigate efficiently, remember preferences, enable functionality, understand user activity, and facilitate online advertising.

  • Local storage technologies (e.g., HTML5): Provide cookie-equivalent functionality but can store larger amounts of data on your device.

  • Web beacons: Also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs, used to show that a webpage or email was accessed or opened, or that certain content was viewed or clicked.

These jurisdictions may not offer the same data protection laws as your home country. Where required, we implement relevant safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) to protect your personal information in accordance with applicable law.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, in accordance with our retention policies and applicable laws, or until you withdraw consent (where applicable). We consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, potential risks of unauthorized use, and applicable legal requirements to determine the appropriate retention period.

Security Practices

We use reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
